A motion portrait is a painted portrait composed of a hundred or more separate paintings which have been photographed or animated into a movie. The finished portrait is a film (or video) which can run as an endless loop or as a two minute film. It also includes all of the individual paintings from which the film was made. A portrait commission results in both the movie and a hundred or more paintings.
