Inspired by Scher's son, this film is a rotoscoped re-creation of
the evolution of vision during the first year of life. By examining
the way optical focus and color perception develop and how the figurative
and the abstract blur together and get sorted over time, Scher reproduces
those early primal visuals. Two years in the making and approximately
8 minutes long, this film is a densely layered piece made up primarily
of watercolors with some cel animation.
