In “City Walk” imagery of urban travel is manipulated to give the impression of a stark, charcoal-like chiaroscuro black and white. The subject is city movement, with the camera, situated in a moving vehicle, filming busy urban life. The constantly moving imagery, at times blurred, is greatly enhanced by the music of Michael Gordon. The function of music in most of Morrison’s work shares equal importance with the image (if not more). |
